JUPITER CONJUNCT PLUTO 2020
The conjunction between Jupiter and Pluto occurs every 12 years. There are three conjunctions in the sign Capricorn in 2020. The first conjunction on April 5th marks the beginning of a greater cycle that ends in 2033 when Jupiter and Pluto make their next conjunction in the sign of Aquarius.
A conjunction aspect is the seeding of a new cycle with planets in the same degree. Jupiter takes around 12 years to complete this new cycle. During this time period Jupiter, as the faster moving planet, will mark our progress by making other aspects to Pluto that test our collective transformation and evolution in the areas under the scrutiny of Pluto.
The planets appear to change direction from direct to retrograde motion at the point in their orbit where they are closest to the Earth. Pluto turns retrograde on April 25th followed by Jupiter on May 14th. Jupiter will then return to conjunct Pluto for the second time on June 30th. Jupiter turns direct on September 13th and Pluto on October 4th. They will reach the third and final conjunction on November 12th.
Jupiter's domain is the law, divine law. Jupiter has rulership over church and religions as well as the legal and education systems. Jupiter expands and magnifies, is visionary and known from ancient times to be the 'Greater Benefic' bringing protection on every level, even as the greatest planet in our solar system protecting us by attracting and deflecting comets from their path to the Earth.
Pluto is the planet of absolute power and rules the underworld, death and rebirth. In the sign of Capricorn it signifies we are in the times of change and transformation in the ruling structures of the world. The last conjunction of Jupiter and Pluto in Capricorn was in 1522, the years of the Reformation, the disruption of the religious and political order in Europe. The Spanish were invading America and the uprisings in Russia and across Eastern Europe make it difficult to imagine places on the Earth that were unaffected by the zeitgeist of these times.
Pluto rules the unseen worlds. The exposure of corruption on a grand scale of the ruling elites and their power structures is reflective of an awareness that something has to change and this change needs to originate within every one of us if we don't wish it to be imposed upon us from our external reality. This will entail facing our own dis-ease, our own darkness and shadow and to address any unwillingness to accept our own power and authority. This is a call to an inner revolution with a mindful eye to our external responsibility and to the future generations that will inherit all we have preserved.
Disempowering legislation has quietly been pushed through the courts by governments to gain more control over those they are deemed to serve. At the same time we are seeing the dissolution of the European Union with the recent challenge by the German Supreme Court.
What we are not seeing is mass arrest of powerful figures in government and media, of what is going on beneath the surface. The slow movement of Pluto means that there is much that will be revealed in time but meanwhile Jupiter is bringing judgement on a grand scale. It is our responsibility to reclaim our personal power and authority and in doing so change the reflection that our external reality is revealing.
